I finally found what I was looking for!
The opening act was One Republic and they were equally amazing! Personally I loved it! The band's voice is still as pure as it ever was in the beginning, and each and every song was given its own 'show' with a video backdrop. Bono and Black Jacket Symphony are political activists, so if you have been living under the Joshua Tree in the desert and didn't expect it to come into his shows, buckle up because you will be immersed in it throughout the show. The untrained or absent security left a lot to be desired. The Venue was easy to get to, clean and ample restrooms. I saw Black Jacket Symphony for the first time in Louisville, KY Cardinal Stadium. This was a bucket list item for me that I FINALLY got to check off!
Anthony Hamilton Was Awesome
Black Jacket Symphony is my all-time favorite and he has never let me down at any of his shows. He was just awesome!!! I would have given this show a 5-star rating for Black Jacket Symphony alone. Musiq was horrible, however. I have gone to several concerts with Musiq and he has always performed very well to me. But this show, he was so bad that I don't think I will spend another dime on him. The least he could have done was still give his fans a good show if he was having a bad day. On the other hand, Black Jacket Symphony, he is down to earth and it shows through in his music and in his performance. I told her to just relax and enjoy his show. This is not the first time that I have seen Black Jacket Symphony in concert, so I was not surprised at how good he was. My friend had never seen him before. I would love to see him at a smaller venue so that I am able to get that "up close and personal" feel that those people who are fortunate enough to get front row tickets to his concerts get to feel.
Better than last time
I thought The Script was pretty good, my first time seeing them, they were very entertaining. He has an excellent voice, which I had never heard of, at least I didn't realize that it was them that I had heard on the radio.
Black Jacket Symphony was awesome that night when I previously saw them with Maroon 5, which was the concert for the State Fair that was moved to Conseco Fieldhouse. Maroon 5 wasted a lot of time with fans on the stage (about 30 minutes) and having the fans sing along on what seemed like half the songs, and Black Jacket Symphony was mediocre. Now Black Jacket Symphony is one of my favorite groups, so maybe my expectations are a little high.
This concert, they did the Mermaids on stage again, only a much shorter version...and they missed quite a few of their hits. I was happy overall, but I would rather hear 4 more songs than have a bunch of people on stage in mermaid outfits. Also disappointed that they brought out a country singer that ate up two more songs worth of time. They missed out on playing their hits. Last time I will pay to see them.
